If you are committed to social justice, and health equity and prepared to deliver care in new, innovative ways, you belong with us.As our Medical Surgical Travel Nurse at CommonSpirit Health, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency.Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others - with a patient-first mindset. Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
- Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
- Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
- Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary.
- Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patient from injury).
- Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).
- Be part of creating the foundation for the CommonSpirit Travel Program.
- Have a voice in establishing the practices for the CommonSprit Travel Program.
- Travel to facilities within one organization, with one mission, vision and values.

- Full-Time positions.
- Shifts vary.
- 12-Week Assignments (may be extended based on business need).
- 36-hours per week guaranteed.
- Eligible for special pay in addition to base pay (shift differential, overtime, extra shift, etc.).
